GRAINTEC SCIENTIFIC LAUNCHES NEW MOISTURE SORPTION ISOTHERM SERVICE
April 21, 2009
When water is a key ingredient, knowing your products' or ingredients' moisture sorption isotherm is the first step in developing profitable, shelf-stable products. If you work in product development and are looking for a way to rapidly generate a high resolution isotherm, Graintec Scientific has the solution.
“We use Decagon’s Aquasorp Isotherm generator” says Lucas Anstiss of Graintec Scientific. “It can produce adsorption and desorption isotherm curves in less than 72 hours with greater than 50 points for each sorption. So it’s fast and with very high resolution.”
Producing detailed isotherms once took between 2 to 5 weeks. The quick turnaround and outstanding resolution offered by the Decagon AquaSorp opens an exciting opportunity for manufacturers and researchers. Previously unattainable data can now be produced extremely rapidly, speeding up the research & development process and increasing product understanding.
More reasons to use a Sorption Isotherm service:
• Is your product moisture sensitive?
• Are you having product shelf-life or stability problems?
• Do you understand how water migrates within your product?
• Do you understand how your product gains or loses water?
• Do you need to determine mono-layer moisture content?
How 'Rapid' is the service? Testing itself will generally take about 48 hours and results will be sent on the day following completion of the test.
What information will I get? Graintec Scientific provides you with a plot of the adsorption and desorption isotherm curves, together with the raw data (if desired), GAB and BET models and a double-log polynomial model of the isotherm.
Is the service available now? The service will commence mid May.
