Infratec Whole Grain Analysers

The Infratec is the world’s leading grain protein and moisture tester.

By harnessing the latest NIR technology, the Infratec offers you an NIR instrument that provides you with an unsurpassed opportunity to meet the current and future demands of the grain trade.

The Infratec employs Near Infrared Transmission (NIT) technology to deliver precise analysis results for grain protein and moisture, quickly and with no or just a little sample preparation.

The Infratec 1241 is now available in many versions, meaning you can customize an Infratec to your needs, and customize the price accordingly.

Advantages of the Infratec 1241 Grain Analyser:

  • Ready-to-use ANN NIR calibrations

Ready-to-use NIR calibrations are available for a wide range of crops and parameters. Contact us to discuss your needs.

The Infratec calibrations are reliable and can handle a vast range of sample types in real life conditions. They can manage large sample-to-sample variations; they are accurate, tolerate large grain temperature variations and are transferable between instruments. The huge Infratec database is made up of over 50000 cross checked analysis results for protein and moisture, from over 20 years of harvests worldwide, so you are well prepared for even the most unusual samples.

The FOSS global Artificial Neural Network (ANN) calibrations offer unsurpassed performance and are used by all the major grain producing countries from the USDA-GIPSA in USA to the Ministry of Agriculture in Japan.

FOSS is a pioneer in the development of both Near Infrared Reflectance (NIR) and Near Infrared Transmission (NIT) technologies and has more than 20 years experience with NIR instruments. The ready-to-use ANN NIR calibrations will allow you to put your Infratec to work without delay.

  • Ease of use and speed of analysis

The speed of analysis has been increased so that your throughput of samples improves by up to 25%. Virtually anyone can make accurate measurements with the Infratec™ 1241. Analysing different sample types is easy – just select the type and continue to run. The instrument automatically takes care of all the settings required for correct results, and the considerably higher throughput contributes to increased production efficiency.

  • Simple operation

The system has been made even easier to use than before, even untrained personnel can achieve consistent results with the new easy to use interface/menu system.

  1. Just pour the sample into the hopper
  2. Press the analyse button.
  3. Read the result in less than one minute.
  4. The sample drawer makes it simple to retransfer the sample back into even narrow necked containers.
  • The Wide Wavelength Range

An increased wavelength range of 570 – 1100 nm. makes it possible to measure new parameters accurately and to include factors such as chlorophyll analysis, tannin analysis and carotene analysis.

Opportunities offered by the Infratec 1241 Grain Analyser's wide wavelength range include:

– Carotene levels in durum wheat analysis (yellowness)

– Chlorophyll in rapeseed analysis (maturity)

– Tannin in wheat analysis (redness)

– Whiteness in polished rice analysis (milling degree)

– Carotene levels in corn analysis (whiteness/yellowness)

The simple operation of the color module makes it possible to implement color measurements as a basis for payment, even during routine use.

  • Easy system integration

The specially developed software, Infratec Data Logger and FOSS DataLink makes it easy to transfer data to or from the instrument and to communicate with a LIMS system. The instrument can also be controlled remotely via your PC.

  • Flexibility

The Infratec base module can be expanded with a number of additional modules:

– Test weight module for rapid determination of volume weight.

– The flour module allows for simple and rapid analysis of flour. Measure a sample of flour by filling a sample cup and placing it into the hopper. Immediately thereafter you can measure a sample of grain by pouring it into the hopper.

– The sample transport module for measurement of cooked rice, green malt, cotton seeds, plant tissue, sunflower meal, spirits and beer. Even breeding samples as small as one ear of grain can be measured, without destroying the sample.

FOSS is the leading supplier of NIR analysis technology with acceptance and approvals from a wide range of commercial and governmental authorities. The Infratec is the recognized standard for grain testing. See more about the Sofia Whole Grain Analyser.
