These mills are ideal for grinding agricultural, food and pharmaceutical products. These mills feature self feed grinding, adjustable grind settings, low noise level, self cleaning mechanism, and no moisture loss.
Adjusting the Grinder:
- the fineness to which the sample is to be ground can be selected by rotating the top toothed disc with the aid of the adjustment pin
- high fat and fibrous products can be first ground on a coarser setting and then a finer setting for final NIR analysis

OPERATION INFORMATION
STARTING AND STOPPING
1. Start/Stop switch is located on the bottom right-hand side. Labelled“0”for Stop and 1”for Start.
2. Auto cut-off is installed. If blades become jammed motor will switch off.
3. For a satisfactory grinding quality and minimum moisture loss, we recommend the mill be operated intermittently no longer than 1.5 to 3 minutes at a time.
GRINDING ADJUSTMENTS
1. The fineness to which the sample is to be ground can be selected by rotating the top toothed disc with the aid of the adjustment pin.
2. For coarser grinding turn the disc clockwise.
3. For finer grinding turn the disc anticlockwise.
4. A locking screw is located in the top of the disc to prevent complete rotation of the disc.
5. NOTE the mill is preset for grinding Wheat and Barley (or similar products). This setting is signified by a White Mark on the top of the disc. This setting is equivalent to turning the disc clockwise approximately ¾ of one division marked on top of the toothed disc.
6. High fat and fibrous products can be first ground on a coarser setting and then a finer setting for final NIR analysis.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
1. When sample has finished grinding, remove hopper and clean grinding chamber with a small paint brush. Replace hopper and turn switch to off position.
2. Use lever at front of exit sprout to help release any ground material stuck in spout. The bottle brush supplied can also be used for this purpose.
3. To dismantle grinding head, ensure power is OFF and cord removed from power point. Remove locking screw from top disc and then rotate disc clockwise until it is free and the tooth disc can be removed.
4. The tooth disc can be cleaned using a stiff brush and compressed air.
WARNING
1. Operation must be intermittent with maximum continuous motor operation not to exceed 15 minutes.
2. Never remove toothed disc while mill is operating.
3. Disconnect electrical power supply before servicing.
