Minibatt - the smallest combine in the world
The Minibatt harvests, threshes and separates out the grains from the surrounding material. It uses a standard hulling technique in a standalone format.
The Minibatt is made up of a self-contained unit comprising a picker / threshing drum, an aerator / blower and its drive system, on the same horizontal axis.
The machine is driven by an electric gear-motor, coupled to the end of the drive shaft and powered by a rechargeable battery.
The minibatt is started using a trigger which controls the motor via an electronic variable speed drive with mechanical pre-sets. The operator carries the machine in one hand whilst using the other to operate a flap located above the picker / threshing drum to direct the ears of the crop onto the picker.
The ears are caught by the fingers of the picker which remove the grains by combing. The sample is then threshed using a concave. The aerator sucks air from the outside through an adjustable air intake opening and blows it into a transverse duct.
The sample passes through the concave and crosses the air flow in the transverse duct, which opens to the outside. The grains are separated from the surrounding material, which is ejected. The grains drop down and are collected in the sampling container.
The Minibatt is an easy to use tool to obtain preharvest samples throughout your paddocks so you know which paddock to harvest first and when to harvest.
The Minibatt provides the following advantages;
- Organisation: The Minibatt frees up manpower and equipment.

- Savings: The Minibatt contributes to lowering sampling costs - i.e. no combine harvester necessary.
- Reliable: Samples taken are identical as those taken with your header
- Fast: Less than 5 minutes to obtain a 500g sample.
- Simple to use: Suitable for both left and right handed users.
- Light: Only 3.3kg
What is the Minibatt?

How does it work?
- The Minibatt is started using a trigger which controls the motor via an electronic variable speed drive with mechanical pre-sets. The operator carries the machine in one hand whilst using the other to operate a flap located above the picker / threshing drum to direct the heads of the crop onto the picker.
- The heads are caught by the fingers of the picker which remove the grains by combing. The sample is then threshed using a concave. The aerator sucks air from the outside through an adjustable air intake opening and blows it into a transverse duct.
- The sample passes through the concave and crosses the air flow in the transverse duct, which opens to the outside. The grains are separated from the surrounding material, which is ejected. The grains drop down and are collected in the sampling container.
Features:
Light: Made of ABS, the Minibatt weighs just 3.3kg, and is protected by a high-quality "flight bag". It can be carried easily in the boot of any vehicle.
Reliability: The samples taken are identical to those taken with a combine harvester.
Savings: Unlike the combine harvester, the Minibatt is powered by electricity and only takes the amount of grain needed for analysis. It therefore contributes to reducing the producer's expenditure by lowering sampling costs.
Multi-purpose: The Minibatt is not only for cereals. Trials are also taking place for sampling other crops such as aromatic and medicinal plants and herbs.
Self-contained: Its 14.4 volt, 2 Ah battery holds enough power for up to 12 samples.
Ease of use: No particular training is required and the Minibatt is equally suitable for left- and right-handed users.
Quick to use: It takes less than 5 minutes to take a 500 gram sample.
