SeedCount System for multiple parameter analysis

Our "SeedCount" grain digital image analyis instrument has just got even better......

SeedCount

Look at these new features:

1) Touch Pad PC:
 - Easy to operate interface.
 - Alleviates software conflicts.  No connection to a laptop/desktop pc required.
 - Simple to set-up.  Start analysing samples immediately
 - No need to download and install licenses.

2) New interface screen:
 - Customise the screen to suit your requirements / analysis.

3) Improved save options:
 - Save the image; and data as a text or html file – all from the one screen.
 - Sequential samples can be saved to the same location.  Important for analysing/averaging batch data

4) New simple calibration routine:
 - Provides assurance the instrument is performing as accurately as possible.
 - The calibration routine is very simple to execute.

5) Improved chalk measurement range for Rice

SeedCount is a digital imaging system specifically designed for the grain industry. It uses software and scanner technology to rapidly and accurately analyze a sample of grain and determine its principal characteristics. It generates detailed data tables that can be exported to any spreadsheet or database program.

SeedCount System for multiple parameter analysisSeedCount is currently offered for wheat, barley, rice and corn analysis. Future versions will include additional trays and calibrations for other grains and cereals.

SeedCount is essential for anyone who grows, sells, buys or uses grain and/or assesses its quality. Potential users are breeders, brewers, dealers, growers, food processors, maltsters, millers, etc.

What Can SeedCount Test?

SeedCount analyses the digital image of a sample of grain to determine the following:

SeedCount System for multiple parameter analysis

  • Number of seeds in the sample
  • Grain Size - Length, width, thickness, area
  • Thousand Kernel Weight - (TKW as-is) or (TKW dry)
  • Dockage percentage (dockage is anything other than whole grain seeds).
  • Screening Equivalents - that correspond to standard screen fractions.
  • Grain plumpness expressed as the ratio of grain width to length.
  • Grain roundness, a three dimensional version of plumpness.
  • Blackpoint as the percentage of seeds that have the defect (blacktip for barley and blackpoint for wheat).
  • Blackpoint Severity - the area (percentage) of the seeds actually discolored by blackpoint.
  • Further tests are currently being developed (e.g. - green seeds, fusarium, weathering, etc).
  • CORN Tests -
  • Size, Horneous Endosperm (by transmitted light), Stress Cracks ( by transmitted light), Red Streaks, Dent Size, Colour, Crown.
