The "Sofia" Protein and Moisture Grain Analyser from FOSS is a fast and accurate NIR whole grain analyser designed for use on-farm.

The Sofia can measure protein and moisture in wheat and barley. Options are also available for measuring sorghum and canola. Additional grains will be available soon.

The Sofia can be powered by either a 240V or 12V supply. Designed for use during harvest in hot, dusty conditions, the Sofia can be used in moving vehicles, such as a header, chaser bin and even the back of a ute.

Most importantly, the NIR grain calibrations used across the Infratec range are aligned, meaning the results you see with the Sofia on-farm grain tester, is what you will see on the bulk handler’s unit at receival.

Description

The Infratec Sofia is a rugged, simple-to-use and accurate NIR grain analyser that allows farmers to make informed decisions about when to harvest, and how best to market the crop. Measurements are simple to perform, and results are delivered in around three minutes. This mobile NIR analyser runs on a 240VAC or 12VDC power supply. It is designed for operation in harsh conditions. No grinding or sample preparation is required. Current measurement options include moisture and protein for wheat and barley.

The Sofia is fully aligned and calibrated against the Infratec 1241 analyser, the official system used for payment by bulk grain handlers around the world.
